Domains and Redirects

Default instance URLs

Every CanaryWP instance has a managed URL. Use it for testing even when the source WordPress site has a production domain.

Custom domains

• Connect a domain only when the instance should respond on that hostname.
• Keep production DNS pointed at production unless you are intentionally moving traffic.
• Verify DNS and SSL before sharing a custom domain.

Redirects

• Use redirects to map old URLs to new URLs inside a WordPress instance.
• Review type, status, and hit counts before editing or deleting rules.
• Test redirects in the browser after changes.
